Let us clarify, because it's a really good question.

SIS is the industry platform that facilitates the electronic invoicing and settlement process.

ICH (also known as the IATA Clearing House) on the other hand, provides settlement services for the air transport industry. ICH applies the principles of off-set and netting.

To be able to settle via the IATA Clearing House you must be a SIS participant.

However if you plan to use SIS for invoiceing with bilateral settlement via bank transfer, you don't need to join ICH.
