This depends on the type of operation your company conducts or is planning to conduct.
 
Airlines that publish their schedule
  • Valid Air Operating Certificate (AOC).
  • Certificate of incorporation / Company Registration, with shareholder names.
  • Confirmation issued by the data aggregator (i.e. OAG, Innovata)
  • Complete and submit application form.
  • Pay applicable application fee
 
Airlines that do not publish their schedule
  • Valid Air Operating Certificate (AOC).
  • Certificate of incorporation / Company Registration, with shareholder names.
  • One of the following criteria must be meet;
    • Have a requirement to participate in an airline industry shared telecommunication facility using SITA or ARINC.
    • Have a reciprocal two-way interline traffic agreement with an airline that holds a valid IATA airline code.
  • Complete and submit application form available at http://www.iata.org/services/Pages/codes.aspx
  • Pay applicable application fee
 
Train, Bus, and Ferry companies
  • Valid authorization to provide transportation services issued by a government body.
  • Certificate of incorporation / Company Registration, with shareholder names.
  • Confirmation of an intermodal traffic agreement with an airline that holds a valid IATA airline code.
  • Confirmation issued by the data aggregator (i.e. OAG, Innovata)

  • Pay applicable application fee
 
Unit Load Devices (ULDs) Owners/Leasing Companies
  • Be members of the IATA Strategic Partnership program
  • Certificate of incorporation / Company Registration, with shareholder names.

Computerized Reservation Systems (CRSs)
  • Signed confirmation letter from an airline that holds a valid IATA airline code that the CRS is providing them services.
