Answer | New airport codes are referred to by IATA as location identifier codes. The application form for a new location identifier code can be obtained at the following IATA webpage http://www.iata.org/services/Pages/codes.aspx Once the application form is completed it should be returned to IATA by logging a query through the IATA customer portal at www.iata.org/cs and attaching the completed application form. This application must be completed and returned by an airline with operations to the airport. The application cannot be submitted by the airport, or government. Non-IATA airlines will be charged an assignment fee for each new location. The fee for the new location identifier applications can be found on the IATA Customer Portal under the heading “Resources”, and the subheading “Documents” |
